Kate Lewis studied Jewellery Design in London before moving to the beautiful Gower Peninsular. Her studio is located within minutes of the beach and the things she sees and finds in this seascape influence her work.

Kate’s silver and gold collection has a natural quality combining organic shapes with matt finishes and many pieces demonstrate her interest in movement within jewellery. She is inspired by the way the changing light alters the shoreline and the objects cast upon it.

Sea glass from local beaches is incorporated into many of Kate’s designs. These frosted jewels demonstrate nature’s ability to shape and transform the things we discard and forget, into something of beauty. Shards of glass are tossed and tumbled by the action of the waves on the sand and take on a smooth frosted appearance producing sea glass, sometimes called mermaids’ tears.
